Tax saved via 80C investments. The Section 80C Deduction Calculator takes total 80c-eligible investments and payments this year, your marginal tax rate (5, 20 or 30) and returns tax saved (including 4% cess) plus deduction allowed, room left under the ₹1.5 lakh limit, extra tax you could save by using the full limit. Results update as you type, and the formula is shown under the result so you can repeat it in your own spreadsheet.
Indian tax rules change with each Finance Act and GST Council meeting. The rates here follow the current published rules, but confirm the figures on the official portals or with a chartered accountant before filing or invoicing. Use the worked example below to check the maths against your own figures.
How the Section 80C Deduction Calculator works
Section 80C allows up to ₹1.5 lakh a year for PF, PPF, ELSS, life insurance premiums, tuition fees, home loan principal and similar. It is available only in the old regime; the saving is the deduction times your marginal rate plus cess.
